WHAT IS CYBER SECURITY?
Cyber security is the practice of defending computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks, and data from malicious attacks. It’s also known as information technology security or electronic information security. The term applies in a variety of contexts, from business to mobile computing, and can be divided into a few common categories.
FIVE TYPES OF CYBER SECURITY
1. Application security:
Application security describes security measures at the application level that aim to prevent data or code within the app from being stolen or hijacked. It encompasses the security considerations that happen during application development and design, but it also involves systems and approaches to protect apps after they get deployed.
2. Network security:
Network security is a set of technologies that protects the usability and integrity of a company’s infrastructure by preventing the entry or proliferation within a network of a wide variety of potential threats.
3. Cloud security:
Cloud security, also known as cloud computing security, is a collection of security measures designed to protect cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and data. These measures ensure user and device authentication, data and resource access control, and data privacy protection
4. Critical infrastructure security:
Critical infrastructure describes the physical and cyber systems and assets that are so vital to the United States that their incapacity or destruction would have a debilitating impact on our physical or economic security or public health or safety
5. IoT (Internet of Things) security:
IoT security can be understood as a cybersecurity strategy and protection mechanism that safeguards against the possibility of cyberattacks which specifically target physical IoT devices that are connected to the network. Without robust security, any connected IoT device is vulnerable to breach, compromise and control by a bad actor to ultimately infiltrate, steal user data and bring down systems

- It was expensive; most of the users can’t afford this.
- A normal user can’t use this properly, requiring special expertise.
- Lack of knowledge is the main problem.
- It was not easy to use.
- It makes the system slower.
- It could take hours to days to fix a breach in security.
Is Cybersecurity a Good Career?
Yes. Cybersecurity professionals can anticipate a 33% market growth from 2020 to 2030, which promises job security. Salaries are also quite high, ranging between $70,000 - $120,000, with executive roles fetching even higher salaries.
